“WEGA modernly styled 3-band AC receiver (AM, FM, SW) provided with FM range up to 108 Mc. Two loudspeakers and SW-band complete the technical equipment. The result - magnificent performance and surprisingly good sound quality.” Quote from literature included with the radio. Please see image of specifications sheet for more technical specs. I tested this unit and it has a full-bodied rich sound that only tube electronics can provide! Based on references I found on the included WEGA literature, it appears this unit dates from 1962.

WEGA was founded in 1923 in Germany and was known throughout Europe for chic and top-grade stereo equipment. The company was acquired by Sony in 1975; Sony continued to use the WEGA brand until 2005, when it switched to the BRAVIA brand.
